WA Custom Truck Painters is seeking an Apprentice Spray Painter to join their vehicle repair and refinishing workshop in Belmont.

The business specialises in panel beating and spray painting across trucks, heavy machinery and other vehicles, with services including body repairs, surface preparation, custom painting and refinishing.

This apprenticeship provides the opportunity to develop practical skills in automotive refinishing and spray painting while learning from experienced tradespeople.

Your duties will include:

• Preparing truck bodies, cabins, panels and other vehicle components for painting
• Washing, cleaning, sanding, stripping and masking surfaces
• Removing and refitting vehicle components, trims and fittings
• Learning to mix, prepare and apply primers, paints, clear coats and other finishes
• Filling dents and repairing minor surface imperfections
• Preparing surfaces to achieve a smooth finish
• Using and maintaining spray-painting equipment, tools and workshop machinery under supervision
• Assisting qualified spray painters with painting and refinishing work
• Inspecting completed work under supervision to identify imperfections
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
• Completing required on-the-job apprenticeship training and assessments

• A current driver’s licence is preferred but not essential
• A relevant pre-apprenticeship or previous workshop experience would be advantageous but is not essential
